The Challenge
Deploying Scalable Data Center Capacity with Fast Time-to-Market
Zain KSA required a modular data center to support growing digital demand while ensuring rapid deployment and operational reliability. The facility needed to deliver high-density rack capacity, stable power infrastructure, and efficient cooling within a compact footprint. The challenge was to integrate all systems into a prefabricated architecture aligned with Tier II topology, ensuring performance, safety, and scalability while minimizing deployment timelines.
The Solution
Modular Tier II Data Center Architecture
IPT PowerTech delivered a prefabricated data center in Dammam, composed of 6 modular units, each designed to support 54 IT racks, with a total IT load capacity of 280 kW. The power infrastructure includes a 1.5 MVA MV/LV transformer, supported by 2 x 900 kVA generators, a 120 kVA modular UPS system, and a 256 kW Delta DC power system, ensuring stable and continuous energy supply. Cooling is обеспечed through 4 x 110 kW STULZ DX precision units, maintaining optimal thermal conditions. The facility integrates a NOVEC 1230 fire suppression system, alongside comprehensive civil and electrical works including raised flooring and cable management. Low current systems such as CCTV, biometric access control, fire alarm, leakage detection, and climate monitoring ensure full operational control and security.
