The Challenge
Delivering a Unified EPC Solution in a Complex Environment
As part of its regional expansion in the Middle East, LS ELECTRIC aimed to deploy 350 telecom towers across high- and medium-tension substations in Iraq to connect them to regional data centers. The challenge lay in executing an integrated civil, power, and telecom infrastructure under complex field conditions, including regional instability and COVID-19 disruptions. LS ELECTRIC required a single contractor with proven multidisciplinary capability and local execution strength to deliver a complete, high-quality turnkey solution.
The Solution
End-to-End Turnkey Delivery Across Civil, Power, and Telecom Systems
IPT PowerTech executed the project as a full-scope EPC contractor, delivering civil works, power systems, and telecom network integration. The project covered site preparation, structural works, electrical design and commissioning, and secure telecom network deployment across Iraq’s Basra, Najaf, Hilla, and KUT regions. IPT applied an integrated project management model, aligning all technical disciplines under one execution framework to minimize interface risk and ensure consistency. Adaptive scheduling and close coordination with LS ELECTRIC helped overcome logistical and pandemic-related constraints, while maintaining international quality, safety, and HSE standards throughout the ten-year program.
Results
Unified Infrastructure Supporting National Connectivity
The project was successfully completed in August 2025, with phased deliveries starting in 2018. IPT’s single-source execution improved project efficiency, reduced interface complexity, and ensured seamless commissioning across 350 sites. The new infrastructure enhanced connectivity, operational reliability, and data integration across LS ELECTRIC’s Iraqi substations. Beyond technical delivery, the project strengthened long-term collaboration between LS ELECTRIC and IPT PowerTech, reinforcing both companies’ roles in advancing smart, resilient power networks in the region.
