The Challenge
Expanding Network Coverage with Reliable Power Systems
Zain Iraq launched the FTK 25 Program to expand its national telecom footprint and modernize its energy infrastructure. The project required the deployment of 334 new sites and the integration of hybrid power systems across multiple governorates. The key challenge was executing large-scale rollout operations in parallel with energy system upgrades — all within an accelerated timeline and under diverse regional conditions, while ensuring uninterrupted network service and high operational standards.
The Solution
Integrated FTK Rollout with Hybrid Power Systems
IPT PowerTech implemented the FTK 25 Project under a Full Turnkey (FTK) model, delivering end-to-end execution across civil, power, and telecom domains. The scope included 334 new site constructions, installation of 715 hybrid and standard power cabinets, and the supply and integration of 1,421 generators. The project was executed in two phases to optimize logistics and scheduling. IPT deployed an adaptive project management framework, incorporating early procurement, localized logistics support, and unified tracking systems to synchronize civil and power works. By integrating hybrid energy systems and intelligent DC power optimization, IPT enhanced site efficiency, reduced diesel dependency, and ensured reliable power for continuous network operation.
Results
Enhanced Network Resilience and Energy Efficiency
By the end of 2025, IPT successfully delivered 250 turnkey sites, with the remaining scheduled for beginning 2026. The project achieved improved network uptime, reduced fuel consumption, and greater operational efficiency across Zain Iraq’s infrastructure. Through hybrid power integration and streamlined site execution, IPT delivered measurable cost savings and a lower carbon footprint. The FTK 25 initiative established a scalable rollout framework for future expansion programs, reinforcing the long-term strategic partnership between Zain Iraq and IPT PowerTech.
