Reliable power is essential to the infrastructure supporting telecommunications and data center operations. At MTN Uganda’s Mutundwe Switch Center, IPT PowerTech delivered a UPS upgrade to strengthen the facility’s critical power infrastructure. The project included four 500 kVA uninterruptible power supply units, battery storage with protective enclosures, and a 1,000 A AC distribution panel.

When people think about IPT PowerTech, they often think about power systems, telecom infrastructure, hybrid energy solutions and projects supporting mobile network operators. Behind many of those projects is a manufacturing operation in Romania that plays an important role in how equipment is designed, built and delivered.

The ESCO keynote at Tower & Co. Global Hub 2026 brought together telecom infrastructure, energy and investment leaders to discuss how operators and tower companies are dealing with changing power requirements, investment pressures and rural connectivity. Held on 30 September at the Business Design Centre in London, the session was titled “Innovating New Energy, Services and Rural Connectivity Models to Meet the Needs of Operator and Community Partners.”
